I find myself inspired by the creations of those around me (in life and online) and have decided to start this blog in an attempt to channel this rediculous creative itch that I have.

Movember
or "No-shave November"
I'm so glad its over.
This rediculousness...
This was taken at a Norfolk Admirals hockey game the night before he shaved it all off. I literally turned to him to say something, saw his face, and said, "Oh, I forgot your face looked like that." haha ooops! I was able to ignore it for the most part but at that moment I realized I was out in public with him and his choice of facial hair expression. Yikes.

Monster Monday
Snoopy's first bath!
Poor little guy. He's been receiving frequent baths since this first one. When we picked him up we found out that he had been fed Beneful puppy food.
(Sidenote: I'm sure there are all sorts of opinions out there about this brand of food. Whatever works for you and your dog is great. Personally, I had bad experiences with Molly McGee when she was eating this brand of dog food. It completely altered her personality, making her angry and agressive. Once she was off it, she went right back to normal. This has happened twice. The first time I chocked it up to a living situation that was out of our control. The second time, I knew it was the food. I'll never give it to another animal in my care.)
Anyways... whether it was due to the food or a reaction to something else, Snoopy had really scaly, scabby, dry, flaky skin. We immediately switched him to a puppy chow that did not contain corn as the main ingredient and after a little internet research discovered that frequent bathing would help clear up any other issue that may have caused the skin condition. I'm happy to report that this must have been the right course of action because he is on the mend! (Otherwise it would have been off to the vet for him)

2011 Hunting Season
**Warning** There is a picture of a dead animal at the end of this post.
I hunt. I've hunted since I was 12 years-old. (Which is the legal age to begin hunting in Pennsylvania) As one of three girls it was my way of spending time with my dad. I think I even surprised myself when I came to enjoy the sport and have continued to hunt as an adult.
These pictures were taken over the course of several weekends hunting in Capron, Virginia.
The terrain here is much different than what I'm used to in Pennsylvania. Here, its very flat and swampy. At home, in the mountains, it can be very steep.
Here, we hunt close-range with shotguns. At home, if I can see it, I can shoot at it, since we hunt with rifles.
Here, many people hunt with dogs. At home, it is illegal to hunt deer with dogs.
It has taken some time to adjust to the different style of hunting but at its root, the name of the game is still the same.
Very, very proud of my very first buck!
Like I mentioned above, I've hunted since I was 12. Every year I've hunted, I've filled at least one tag. I have never seen a buck in season while holding a gun. Although this guy is on the small side, it was a big moment for me. :)

Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge
A few weeks ago the bf, his parents, and I took a little drive down to the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge at Sandbridge Beach, Virginia Beach. It was a particularly warm November day so we took the beach cruisers with us and enjoyed riding the trails and looking at the wildlife (mostly migrating water fowl).
Here are a few of the better pictures from the day:
(Warning: Picture Heavy!)

Monster Monday
Please allow me to introduce...
Snoopy!
We picked up this little bundle of trouble in Lynchburg, Virginia, yesterday. He's a Christmas gift for the bf's mom but for the next two weeks he'll be living with the bf.
He's a cutie pie but this morning when he started chewing on the toe of my favorite kitten heels I was glad I got to say goodbye and head back to my house with Miss Molly McGee. I've forgotten what a handful little puppies can be...

Hell Week
I thought I'd get out of it this semester. Procrastination got me again. Burried in term papers and final projects...
